Why Corrective Exercises?

Corrective exercises are targeted movements designed to address and fix underlying muscle imbalances and movement dysfunctions that cause pain and limit performance. Many aches, pains, and injuries are a result of our body’s compensatory patterns. For example, a weak core might lead to low back pain, or a tight hip might cause knee pain. Our corrective exercises are not just about treating your symptoms—they’re about fixing the root cause. At Supreme Physical Therapy, we’ll identify the specific issues in your body and create a plan to help you move better and feel your best.

Our Four Pillars of Corrective Exercise

  • Stretching & Mobility: We’ll use targeted stretching and manual therapy to address tight muscles and stiff joints. The goal is to restore your normal range of motion so your body can move as it was designed to.
  • Strengthening: Once your body can move freely, we’ll focus on strengthening weak or under-active muscles. Our programs use a combination of bodyweight exercises, resistance bands, weights, and machines to build strength, stability, and control.
  • Balance Training: Poor balance is a major risk factor for falls and injuries. We’ll challenge your balance with specific exercises to improve your body’s proprioception (awareness of its position in space) and reduce your risk of injury or falling.
  • Home Exercise Plan (HEP): To ensure lasting results, we’ll create a customized home exercise plan. This plan will include detailed instructions and videos of the exercises we perform in the clinic. Consistency is key, and your HEP is designed to empower you to continue your progress at home.
